Social Programme

Maximise your networking opportunities by taking part in the social activities! The Social Programme of the Symposium will include:

  • Excursions on Monday, June 10

Excursions require a minimum number of participants to register. If the required minimum is not met, the excursion will be cancelled and we will refund the excursion amount. All the excursions will take place on Monday, June 10.

EXCURSION 1: Guided tour of the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum (1 day excursion) - FULLY BOOKED

The authentic Memorial consists of two parts of the former camp: Auschwitz and Birkenau. A visit with a guide allows better understanding of this unique place. The post-camp relics are protected by the Museum created in 1947. The Memorial today is i.a. the Archive and Collections as well as research, conservation and publishing center.

Visit the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum during this 3,5 hours journey.

Departure from the city centre at 10:30

This tour includes the transportation with a private transfer and an English speaking guide. The return in the city centre is expected around 16:30.

EXCURSION 2: Guided tour of the Wieliczka Salt Mine (1/2 day excursion)

The “Wieliczka” Salt Mine is one of the most valuable material and spiritual monuments in Poland entered on the UNESCO World List of Cultural and Natural Heritage. The mine is visited every year by over 1,000,000 tourists from all over the world.

Visit the Wieliczka Salt Mine during this 3 hours journey.

Departure from the city centre at 11:30

This tour includes the transportation with a private transfer and an English speaking guide. The return in the city centre is expected around 16:00.


  • City Tour on Tuesday, June 11

At the end of the scientific programme on Tuesday, a city tour is organised from 18:00 until 20:00 to give participants the chance to discover Krakow.

You will enjoy a stroll around in the Main Market and the Wawel Castel.

This activity is free of charge, but  subject to prior booking.


  • Symposium Banquet on Wednesday, June 12

To conclude the Symposium in style, the organisers cordially invite you to attend the banquet, scheduled for Wednesday, June 12 at 20:00. The dinner will be held in the Zajezdnia tram depot.

The participation in the dinner is optional, and subject to prior booking at the price of 65€. A limited number of places is available, so make sure to book your place in time!
